Contact Your Elected Officials
We are asking supporters of the Secure E-waste Export and Recycling Act (SEERA) to contact their elected officials to encourage passage of the bill.. SEERA was included in the America COMPETES Act (section 30612) which passed the House of Representatives and now goes to a conference committee. By speaking out now, you can help ensure SEERA remains in the final version and is signed into law. .
Here's a simple way you can send your letter using a convenient online tool..
Look up your legislators. Go to https://democracy.io/#!/. Enter your address, which will identify your Congressional district
Use our sample letter. If you prefer, you can adapt our sample letter you can access here. Feel free to adapt and customize your letters.
Choose a Topic. After entering your letter, you will see a section that asks you to choose a Topic for each elected officials. If available, choose "Trade." Other options may include "Foreign Policy," "Foreign Affairs," International Affairs," and "International Relations."
Click Send! That's it. Please send an email to Members@AmericanErecycling.org to let us know which offices you have contacted.
